‘The real deal, a demon picker’ – UNCUT MAGAZINE

BBC Folk Awards ‘Best Musician’ nominee Dan Walsh combines ‘virtuoso playing and winning songwriting’ (MORNING STAR). Describing what Dan does is no easy task but at the heart of it is British, Irish and American folk music delivered with a healthy dose of funky grooves – all performed with his unique and dazzling take on clawhammer style banjo helping to challenge all preconceptions about the instrument.

Add to all that poignant songs, astonishing musical departures and lively humour and the result is a truly memorable live show which has wowed audiences across the world from intimate seated rooms to huge dancing crowds in festival fields. Walsh has recorded five albums to much critical acclaim and he is an in demand performer with a hectic touring schedule in the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, India and throughout Europe. A real world class banjo player – Tom Robinson, BBC Radio 6
Absolutely terrific – Mark Radcliffe, BBC Radio 2

The real deal, a demon picker -Uncut

Sam Russo & the Trembling Leaves + Sophie Porter + James Hull

Sam Russo

A quietly defiant and singular voice in folk and punk for decades, Sam Russo returns to Norwich for the first time in years for an intimate show at Dead Wax.

‘An artist who seems to get better and better with every release’ - Gen Handley, Rolling Stone

‘Sam is one of the most remarkable musicians that I've encountered.’ - Frank Turner

FFO: Samiam, The Weakerthans, Alkaline Trio, Bright Eyes, Lucero

Sophie Porter:

Before she was in Other Half and the pages of Rolling Stones magazine, Sophie Porter was a darling of the DIY folk-punk scene and the fastest strummer in the UK. For the first time in over a decade, she'll be playing solo again. Lucky you.

James Hull:

Part spit, part sawdust and all heart, James Hull’s songwriting sits somewhere between squat punk and Parisian café noir with a panoramic lyricism that defies classification. A compass spinning blend of grandeur and grime, his sound brings to mind those birds that mimic car alarms.

As bassist in Apologies, I Have None he’s always called himself a Londoner, but James has also fallen hard for Norwich. Since moving back to the Fine City, he’s been writing new material for an upcoming solo release - his first since 2022’s This Be The Mannekensvere.

Phage Records and KillTown Bookings present:

Infectious Entropy UK/IRE Tour, ft CEREMONIAL BLOODBATH & CRYPTWORM

Tuesday, 20th OctoberDeadwax, NorwichDoors: 19:00Advance tickets: £15

CEREMONIAL BLOODBATH

Ceremonial Bloodbath formed in 2015 for the singlepurpose of creating extreme raw metal that creates chaotic, swarming hellscapes with barbaric rhythms holding the caving ground underneath. This 4-piece hails from Canada's West Coast in allegiance to sculpt their anti-music which began entirely committed to themes of ritual human sacrifice.

Born beneath a black hole in Vancouver, BC and founded by Abysmal Berserker, Faceless Infinity, and Nuclear Hammer Throne, the project developed and began to conjure and include blasphemic themes. The Nocturnal Black joined the projectduring the recording of their first LP "The Tides of Blood" released in 2020, which shifted the live rituals to include simultaneous violent doubled vocals. In 2023, "Genesis of Malignant Entropy" was released featuring 9 tracks of twisted sonic chaos, developing the band's sound further.

Most releases from the band feature fully developed and original samples created by lead guitarist Abysmal Berserker, which are often featured in live performances. Callers of nuclear Armageddon, from beyond, decipherers of the unnameablesickness - driven mad by unholy flute and war drums of a sadistic deity - Ceremonial Bloodbath, desecrators of the holy man's moral oasis and extractors of perverse soul.

A horde of abominable sonic extermination come together to summon a darkened scourge of complete bestial death metal and aural abandon in UK and Ireland for the only the second time ever!

CRYPTWORM

Formed in 2014 by Tibor Hanyi and Joe Knight, Cryptworm have become one of the most prolific UK underground death metal bands in the past decade. After several EPs, demos and splits, they released their long-awaited debut full length album in 2022 which was also the last release featuring the original line up.

Following the success of their debut album and a new line up featuring Joss Farrington (Cryptic Shift & Seprevation) on bass and Jay Wintle (Seprevation) on drums, Cryptworm returned with its follow-up, “Oozing Radioactive Vomition”, another rancid affair of true Death Metal abhorrence.

After 2 years of festivals and tours supporting the second album Cryptworm is back with their 3rd album released by Me Saco Un Ojo Records and Extremely Rotten Productions in early 2026. Their new offering injects even more fury and unpleasantries into the already crushing sound they had carefully built, taking things even further into the abyssal murk of the underground for all real maniacs to revel in the molten rot on display. If the song titles such as “Drowning in Purulent Excrementia” and “Gastrointestinal Seepage” don’t already give you an idea of what to expect, then allow your ears to fall victim to the sonic suppuration of Cryptworm’s most malformed release to date.

PLAGUED

Plagued is a five-piece death metal band from East Anglia, UK, formed in 2024. The band's debut EP "Rotting Dominions", released last February, presents old-school death metal with a modern sound, bringing together influences from each of the members, including old-school death metal, Swedish death metal, hardcore, metalcore, and thrash metal.

The material is built around riff-driven song-writing, a modern Swedish guitar sound, and powerful, aggressive vocals, combining hardcore grooves with crushing fast death metal riffs.

Phage Records & Reaper Agency present: OAKENTHRONE

Oakenthrone was formed in 2022 by founder and composer Simon Nagington.

Originally as a solo project; his unique take on the black metal genre was forged in

the 2 track tape releases of “Embers of Reverie” (2024) and “Astral Binding & the

Oathsworn” (2025). Both cassettes sold out immediately and pushed Oakenthrone to

the top of the Bandcamp UK Black Metal page where it has retained a foothold

since.

2025 saw Oakenthrone develop into a full live band. Recruiting Nathan Caven (ex-

Sathamel), Andrew Hunt (ex-Pist) and Ant Hurlock (ex-Mairu); the debut live

performance came in October at the Call of the Crow festival to huge praise. A

festival exclusive split cassette with fellow festival performers and dungeon synth

stalwarts, Gate Master, was put out. These tracks, along with the previous cassettes,

were later packaged together for Darkwoods Records in a CD format – “Paths Once

Trodden (2024-2025)”.

In March 2026, Oakenthrone joined Scottish black metal pioneers, Saor, on the UK

leg of their Amidst the Ruins tour. Becoming a pivotal moment for the band and

cemented them as a commanding live force in the UK scene.

The 20 th of November 2026 will see the release of Oakenthrone’s debut album “Ad

Silvam” through Vendetta Records. A culmination of all that has come before, this is

a true forging of a new path.

Joe Newberry and April Verch are rooted in the musical traditions of the Missouri Ozarks and Canada’s Ottawa Valley. Their partnership brings together deep family influences, strong musicianship, and a shared love of traditional music.

Joe grew up in a family of singers and dancers, learning guitar, banjo, and fiddle tunes from Missouri masters.
